WHAT IS MURPH COMP?
Dedicated to "Murph Dog" Christopher Brian Murphy.

Born October 9, 1984 in Appleton, Wisconsin, he was the son of Timothy and Debra Murphy. Chris graduated from Menasha High School and earned his degree in welding a few years later. He loved anything that took him to the outdoors including fishing and hunting.
Chris was an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with his many pets over the years. He was a good friend and a pleasure to be around, always caring about the happiness of others.
Over the years, the competition has provided us with the opportunity to share stories about Chris and the profound impact he had on numerous lives. Chris played a significant role in the construction of the Menasha Skatepark, and we are eagerly committed to preserving his legacy for the benefit of future generations.

CELEBRATINGA NEW LOOK!
In July, 2023, thanks to the generosity of all who contributed to our event, we presented Mayor Donald Merkes of Menasha and the Menasha Parks and Recreation Department with a check totaling $6,290.
We express our gratitude for your ongoing support. Your generosity enables us to further Chris's mission of preserving the Menasha Skate Park for future generations.
With your help, we've been able to level up the skatepark at Hart Park. Teaming up with the City of Menasha, we dropped in a fresh new sunshade, making sure we stay cool when we're tearing it up on those scorching summer sessions.
CARTER & MALORY'S Lemonade stand
Last fall, Carter and his friend Mallory set up a lemonade stand in their front yard during Porchfest at Smith Park in Menasha to raise money for the Chris Murphy Memorial Fund. Right next door, Club Liquor joined in with a stand of their own for anyone who wanted to add a little something extra to their lemonade. Together, Carter and Mallory raised an incredible $285.
Their generosity inspired others to step up as well. James and Anastasia Horan, through Club Liquor, along with Christina and Jake Anderson, through Complex Coffee Roasters, each made matching donations of $285. James’s parents, Kay and Doug Horan, also made an incredibly generous donation of $1,250.
We are so grateful for the kindness and support shown by Carter, Mallory, Club Liquor, Complex Coffee Roasters, and the Horan family. Every donation helps us continue Chris’s mission of supporting and improving the Menasha Skate Park at Hart Park for future generations of skaters and the community.

2026 MURPH COMP X
Murph Comp X is a free, all-ages skateboarding competition hosted by the Chris Murphy Memorial Fund at Menasha Skate Park in Hart Park. This year’s event takes place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, with registration opening at noon. The day will bring together skaters, families, friends, and the local community to celebrate skateboarding, support the Menasha Skate Park, and continue Chris Murphy’s mission of keeping the park alive for future generations.
The event will feature a skateboard competition, food, raffles, a meet and greet, a famous free merch toss, and a live stream on the Blue Dragon’s YouTube channel. Pro skaters from Stereo Skateboards, including Chris Blake, Chris Pierre-Jacques, and Yoshi Tanenbaum, will also be part of the day, with a skateboard demonstration scheduled from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Murph Comp has become more than just a skate contest. It is a community event built around friendship, local support, and the love of skating. All proceeds and support help the Chris Murphy Memorial Fund continue improving and preserving the Menasha Skate Park at Hart Park.
